Collection “Z”

Collection

As promised, here’s the collection I’ve been working on!

I’m calling it the “Z” Collection here, but in my paperwork, I’ve inserted the client’s name, which adds a personal touch. That’s the trend among professionals in this field; famous collections are always linked to their origins, making each coin’s history even more fascinating!

While there’s nothing too rare or valuable in this batch (it’s about $485 in retail value and $320 if liquidated), it’s still fascinating to look at these coins that are over a century old. You can take a look below, where I’ve also highlighted a couple of my favorites!

******

[The entire lot…]

[A close-up of the silver dollars… The first one (from 1878) would have been amazing if it weren’t so worn! It’s the first year Morgan dollars were made and could be worth hundreds if it were uncirculated.]

[Close-up of the nickels and cents… Like the Morgan above, the last large cent is cleaned and rough-looking (such a shame!). It would have been worth over $200 if untouched.]

[Close-up of the wheat pennies and the four foreign coins… It always makes you wonder about their journeys, doesn’t it? Among 50+ U.S. coins, a few foreign ones sneak in, haha… They ended up being my favorites from the whole collection, and the only ones I decided to keep for myself :)]

[Check out the French 10-cent piece up close! Isn’t it beautiful?! It’s fascinating how lighting affects these photos… It really does have that tone and color, but it looks so different from the previous picture!]

[The Canadian one cent from 1876… That purple is amazing!]

[Lastly, I couldn’t resist showing another picture of that wonderfully ugly coin holder, hahaha… it’s something else!]

My client originally asked for my help to evaluate and liquidate the collection, but his son got wind of the plan and was unhappy about not receiving it, so plans changed quickly 😂

I printed a copy of the spreadsheet I made, detailing each coin, but sent the coins back, except for the two foreign ones I mentioned earlier and that epic coin holder, which I claimed as my “payment,” lol…

You can check out the full spreadsheet here if you’d like to download, tweak, or use it for your own collecting:

Interestingly, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise since I’ve been asked to liquidate another collection, and it’s huge! Over 20 folders filled with Morgans, Silver Eagles, nickels, pennies, foreign coins, and all sorts of treasures just waiting to be explored, haha…

I’m excited to dive in and see what treasures we uncover 🙂 Stay tuned for pictures! Thanks for reading! I hope your own collections are thriving and that you don’t need someone like me to sell them off for you! (But if you do, you know where to find me.)

XOXO,

*As stunning as those coins are, they’re only worth about $1.00 and $6.00 respectively…
