Hello everyone!
I just heard some exciting news: the American Numismatic Association is offering a FREE one-year membership starting next week. If you’ve ever been curious about joining, now’s your chance! 🙂
I joined as a Life Member about three years ago and have been enjoying it ever since.
You can find more details about what’s included and how to join here:

On a different note – hi there! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?!
The world’s changed a bit since our last blog post back in 2018 😉 I hope everyone is staying safe, healthy, and, of course, still collecting!
I’ve really missed attending coin club meetings lately, but it’s understandable given the current pandemic situation. For now, I’ve been browsing coins online, hoping I’ll get to hold some in the future. I’ve also been helping friends and family by selling off collections they no longer wish to keep.
It’s always a bit sad to see these collections go, but it’s also exciting to discover what treasures people have amassed over the years! The last collection I sorted through had some amazing finds, like $20 St. Gaudens gold coins (my favorite!!), early 20th-century silver and gold coins from Europe, over 100 Morgan and Peace dollars, lots of pre-64 silver coins and wheat pennies, and even some early U.S. large notes I’d never seen up close before.
Here’s a snapshot of a few pieces before I delved into the collection:
I usually keep a few coins as my “payment,” and I sell the rest to friends and coin club members. Inventorying, grading, selling, and collecting payments typically takes about 30-40 hours, but it’s always a fun challenge. After a week off, I’m always ready to dive back in again 🙂
I also wrote a guide on my personal finance site for anyone unsure about what to do with unwanted coin collections. Feel free to share the link if you know someone who might find it helpful:
How to Sell Your Inherited Coin Collection
Hopefully, you won’t need this guide, but if you or your friends do, pass it along! You’re always welcome to reach out to me, too. I might be quiet here sometimes, but I’m always online, happy to chat, especially if it involves coins!
Sorry for being away for so long! I hope everyone’s doing well, and let’s keep in touch. I’d love to hear what’s happening in your collecting world! No one here at home enjoys talking about this stuff, and we’re all cooped up together 😉
Happy collecting!
