Hey everyone!
I just heard that the American Numismatic Association (ANA) is offering FREE one-year memberships starting next week. It’s a great chance to give it a try if you’re interested!
I’ve been a Life Member for about three years now and I absolutely love it.
You can find more details on what the membership includes and how to sign up here:

In other news, hello! It’s been a while since we last updated the blog in 2018. The world has gotten a bit crazier since then, hasn’t it? I hope you all are safe and healthy—and, of course, still enjoying your coin collecting!
I’ve really missed attending coin club meetings lately, but it’s totally understandable given the current situation. In the meantime, I’ve been browsing coins online and helping friends and family liquidate some collections, since they’re not interested in continuing the tradition.
It’s always sad to see collections go, but sorting through them is such a fun experience! The last batch I worked on had $20 St. Gaudens gold coins (my favorite!), early 20th-century silver and gold coins from Europe, over 100 Morgan and Peace dollars, tons of pre-64 silver coins and wheat pennies, and even some U.S. large notes I hadn’t seen up close before.
Here’s a snapshot I took before diving in:
I usually keep a few coins as my “payment” and then sell the rest to friends and coin club members to help liquidate the collection. It takes about 30–40 hours in total to inventory, grade, sell, and collect the money, but it’s always a fun process. After a short break, I’m always ready to do it again!
If you’re not sure what to do with an unwanted collection, I wrote a guide on my personal finance site that might be helpful:
How to Sell Your Inherited Coin Collection
Hopefully, you’ll never need to use it, but if you do—or if you know someone who does—feel free to share the link! And remember, you can always reach out to me. I may be quiet on this blog sometimes, but I’m always online for my career and happy to help—especially when it comes to coins!
Apologies for my long absence, but I hope everyone is doing well. Let’s stay connected! I’d love to hear what’s new in your collecting adventures. No one in my household is into this stuff, and we’re all together here these days!
Happy collecting!
